TAFT Student Participants are students who receive academic support, peer tutoring, mentorship, and leadership development opportunities through TAFT programs and partner sites.
About This Pathway
The Student Participant pathway is designed for students eager to learn, grow, and receive support from peers, mentors, and educators within a positive learning community.
Student Participants may work with trained Student Tutors, Student Mentors, educators, volunteers, or program facilitators, depending on the structure of the program site.
Who May Apply
Student Participants may include elementary, middle, or high school students, depending on the specific program, school, church, community organization, or partner site.
Eligibility may vary by program location and partnership model.
For school-based programs, Student Participants may be in the same grade level as Student Tutors or in lower grade levels, depending on the school structure and program design.
For community-based, church-based, or nonprofit partner programs, Student Participants may include younger children, middle school students, or high school students who would benefit from academic and mentorship support.
Students under 18 must have consent from a parent or guardian to participate.

Participation Expectations
Student Participants are expected to:

- Respect peers, tutors, mentors, volunteers, and partner staff
Parent or Guardian Consent
Parent or guardian consent is required for students under 18.
TAFT may ask parents or guardians to review and complete consent forms related to participation, communication, safety, media use, and program expectations.
Application and Enrollment Process
- Review the Student Participant pathway information.
- Create an account or sign in to the TAFT Portal.
- Complete the Student Participant Application.
- Submit any required parent or guardian information.
- TAFT or the partner site reviews the application.
- Selected students receive participation details and next steps.
- Students begin onboarding and program participation.
What Happens After I Apply?
After submitting an application, students and families may be contacted by TAFT or a partner organization for additional information, orientation, or enrollment details.
Not all programs follow the same process. Specific next steps may vary depending on the program location and partner site.
Application Review
Applications may be reviewed by the TAFT Program, program facilitators, or authorized partner staff.
