TAFT Foundation believes high-potential students are not only advanced learners but also capable of serving as learning leaders, peer mentors, learning collaborators, contributors to their communities, and future educators.

Through peer learning, mentorship, leadership development, and meaningful learning experiences, TAFT seeks to help underserved high-potential Grades 8-12 students grow in confidence, leadership, academic engagement, and community impact.

As the TAFT Program and the Scalable Peer Flux Leadership (SPFL) framework continue to evolve, students may have opportunities to participate as peer tutors, mentors, student learning leaders, program participants, Youth Advisory Board members, and research participants.

TAFT particularly seeks to support underserved high-potential students whose leadership potential and educational opportunities are often overlooked within traditional educational systems.

After participating in TAFT training programs, underserved high-potential Grades 8-12 students serve as peer tutors, supporting peer learning by helping fellow students strengthen their academic confidence, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.

TAFT believes peer tutoring can provide meaningful opportunities for high-potential students to grow not only academically, but also as learning leaders, mentors, future community leaders, and educators.

Future peer tutor opportunities may include leadership development activities, collaborative learning experiences, and mentorship support in the TAFT Foundation educational ecosystem .

Student Mentors may help support younger students, peer tutors, collaborative learning groups, and leadership activities within future TAFT initiatives.

TAFT views mentorship as an opportunity for experienced peer tutors to develop leadership identity, communication, collaboration, empathy, and community engagement.

As the TAFT Program and SPFL framework continue to evolve, mentorship opportunities may expand through leadership activities, peer support, and Youth Advisory Board participation.

Student Participants may engage in peer learning, enrichment activities, and collaborative educational experiences designed to support academic engagement, confidence, and personal growth.

TAFT seeks to create supportive learning environments where students can learn with and from one another while exploring and stimulating their potential.

Student Leadership, Voice, and Collaborative Impact

TAFT’s Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is envisioned as a collaborative student leadership group that may help inform future program ideas, leadership development, peer engagement activities, community perspectives, and educational research iteration.

TAFT believes student voice and leadership are essential components of meaningful and collaborative learning environments and of educational research.

As the TAFT Program and SPFL continue to grow, future YAB opportunities may support leadership development, student collaboration, reflection, community engagement, and education research.
